CARREER
Peter is a member of the Dutch Bar Association. He has previously worked with law firms associated with the Big Four accountancy firms in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) as an investment fund specialist (AIFMD).
In 2020 he started the firm Financial Markets Law (FMLaw).
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- after his graduation in 1993 as a master in law, Peter successfully followed a postgraduate
education in Securities Law at the Grotius Academy. - Peter has been seconded for several months with the Dutch Central Bank (at that time the sole competent supervisory authority for investment funds) at the department that supervised the Dutch investment industry.
- (co-)author of various publications.
EXPERIENCE (INVESTMENT FUNDS)
- obtaining licenses to operate as an AIFMD fund manager.
- registration of investment funds under the AIFMD and the approval of prospectuses under the Prospectus Regulation.
- structuring of various type of investment funds, including private investment funds, fund of fund structures, umbrella investment funds, private equity funds, hedge funds and real estate investment funds, all with and without legal personality as well as regulated and non-regulated funds.
- merging of investment funds.
- listing of investment funds (RM and MTF).
- registration of foreign UCITS in the Netherlands.
- winding up and de-registration of investment funds.
OTHER EXPERIENCE
- structuring an RM and MTF and obtaining the required licences with the Dutch Ministry of Finance and the Authorities for the Financial Markets.
- advising financial market parties with regard to inducements.
- setting up cash pooling structures for multinationals.
- advising on various compliance matters (investment funds, investment firms, pension funds, insurance companies).
